To better understand this short story let me explain "Succulents". Actually, it's simple. They are nothing but set of drought-tolerant plants. That means you can water them a little and they will be happy for days.
I was struck by a bolt of lightning (Expression, not literally but close to literal...you will know why so).
I had gone to my parent's place because it was my bro's wedding. One day before the wedding day, I was struck by lightning. I fractured my leg in perfect circumstances (means when and where nothing can be fractured). I initially thought it's just a sprain and neglected. After 2 hrs I wasn't able to put my foot on the ground. It was very painful. We rushed to the doctor, got it examined and bammm.....there was ages of silence (that's my expression)....because the doc said it's a fracture!!! I was doomed. I had so many plans/activities to do on the wedding day. Everything got screwed up. That day went by, the wedding was over and I came back home.
Initially, I searched many options so I can pass my time. Doc had advised not to put the fractured foot on the ground and keeping it elevated most of the time so that swelling goes away. I took the easy option first. Started getting up late. Started watching TV. Serials, movies which I haven't watched. I was able to pass the time successfully. After few days television got hijacked (don't ask me how). I was doomed again. I started finding options. I started observing my plants when I used to get up. Watering them was hard since my foot was still in plaster. I started thinking that I should have more plants but I shouldn't be required to water them daily.
And one day I found succulents matching my requirements in one of the FB groups. I ordered my first set of succulents (after a lot of research on sellers) and was very happy. I joined a few more groups. Sets of plants started arriving home. In a few week's time, I collected 30-40 succulents with impulsive buying and just to pass time.
Finally, my cast was removed and I thought I am a free bird now who can walk as I like. But NO!!!!! Even after 3 weeks removing cast I wasn't able to walk normally as I used to. I got more frustrated. I joined a few more FB groups of succulents. This time a few international groups too. I bought a few more sets of plants. Soon I needed stands for my plants. Fortunately, I had 4 stands. I kept all my succulents and cacti on 2 stands and started caring for them. Now I have 50-60 beautiful collection of succulents and cacti together. These 8 weeks of frustration has made my pockets almost empty but has filled the heart.
Now some photos of plants for you to enjoy!
